Revan, dreaded as the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Revan, and greatly praised by the Jedi Order as Prodigal Jedi Knight was a legendary Jedi Master and warrior who played a pivotal role in many wars as both Jedi Knight and Sith-Lord in the time of the Old Republic. Originally trained by the Jedi Order, Revan was an extremely gifted Force-Sensitive student, ascending to the rank of Knight within the Order. When war came to the galaxy in the form of the Mandalorians, Revan defied the wishes of the Jedi Council and gathered followers who would help him defeat the Mandalorian warrior clans. In the aftermath of his victory over the warrior clans of Mandalore, Revan and his forces ventured into unknown space where they would encounter a darkness that would mold his forces into a Sith Empire, one that would start a bloody war across the galaxy and make Darth Revan an instrument of darkness. Into his reign as Dark Lord, his student tried to kill him so as to take the Sith Empire for himself.

Revan was saved both from his injuries and from the darkness by the Jedi Padawan Bastila Shan, who after Revan lost all his memories brought him back to the Jedi Council, who decided to make Revan a Knight once again so as to end the threat he himself created. During his quest to destroy the Sith Empire, Revan gained new allies and came to love Bastila during their travels. After the fall of his Sith Empire and the death of the treacherous apprentice, Darth Malak, Revan had earned the title of Prodigal Knight, and would later on marry Bastila. After 2 Years, the Council Awarded The Rank of Jedi Master To Him But Revan Never Took A seat in Council but still remained a Jedi and sank into obscurity for several years until resurfacing memories of the dark regions of the Unknown Regions led Revan to leave Bastila and their unborn child in search for answers. Revan dedicated many years of his life afterwards to bringing about the downfall of the Sith Empire once and for all, but both the Empire and the Republic joined together to stop him.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

A Human male, the individual later known as Revan was born in approximately 3994 years before the Battle of Yavin, and some believed that he had been born in the Outer Rim Territories. The child who would be remembered as Revan was eventually discovered to be Force-Sensitive and was accepted into the Jedi Order. His first mentor to guide him in using the Force would be Jedi Master Kreia. During the course of his training, he would befriend a fellow student named Alek at the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine. Both Revan and Alek would receive further training from a number of Jedi Masters after he would part ways with his master Kreia. Many of his teachers believed that the young man would become a champion of the Order, though some were wary of the student's desire for knowledge.

Alongside Alek, the future Revan achieved the rank of Jedi Knight sometime before 3964 years before the Battle of Yavin, and the two were widely acknowledged as being among the most promising members of the Jedi Order. However, Alek's friend was commonly recognized as the more powerful and intelligent of the pair, and he was seen as the leader among the two. By 3964 years before the Battle of Yavin, the man was a well-known, charismatic, and powerful Jedi Knight.

Mandalorian Wars[]

That year, warriors of the Mandalorian culture began an invasion of the Galactic Republic's territories in the Outer Rim, bringing the Mandalorian Wars to the larger galaxy. Outraged at the Jedi Council's refusal to involve the Order in the conflict, the young Jedi Knight began to move among the Order, arguing that the Jedi should actively aid the Republic Military in its fight against the Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders. The Republic media branded him as the "Jedi's own crusader", and the "crusader" gradually gathered a following of like-minded Jedi as the number of military and civilian casualties continued to rise. Alek was the first to join the cause, and his friend soon became considered to be the honorary "Master" of those who followed him.

As the war between the Galactic Republic and the Mandalorian armada waged on, Revan and his Jedi Crusaders ventured to the Outer Rim to confront them. During one of the battles, Revan had a Force vision showing him the devastation that the Mandalorians would leave in their wake, and in response picked up a fallen Mandalorian mask, donned it, and swore that he would wear it until the until the Mandalorians were defeated forever. Pressing the Jedi Council's hand, Revan's movement was sanctioned and jumped into space, saving shipyards of Duro from complete Mandalorian destruction 3,962 years before the Battle of Yavin. Following the conflict above Duro, Revan was named Supreme Commander of the Galactic Republic's military. A master tactician, Revan began pushing back the Mandalorian armies alongside his right-hand man Alek, who at that point was known as Malak.

Falling to the Dark Side[]

As the war waged on, Revan continued to sacrifice his morals for victory, drawing closer and closer to the dark side. However, the Mandalorians respected him for this, believing that he was worthy advisory and among the greatest military leaders in history. Eventually, Revan came across the world of Malachor, where he discovered a treasure of Sith artifacts. Revan embraced the dark side willingly, believing that its power was needed for ultimate victory. After studying the teachings of the ancient Sith who came before him, he orchestrated a plot where he would lure the Mandalorians into a great battle above Malachor, in which he would completely eradicate their armies and seduce his fleet with the terrible energies of the dark side. Following the defeat of the Mandalorians, the galaxy hailed Revan and Malak as saviors, but none could have predicted what would happen next.

After embracing the dark side and defeating the Mandalorian leader at the Battle of Malachor 3960 years before the Battle of Yavin, Revan and his friend Malak, followed the trail of a mysterious Sith influence on the Mandalorian Wars to the Unknown Regions, where the two discovered a reconstituted Sith Empire and were furthermore corrupted by the Sith Emperor. The Sith Emperor anointed both Revan and Malak into the Sith Darth Revan and Darth Malak, and though he had sent them back to the Republic as advance agents, they broke free of the Emperor's mental control over them and established their own empire using the forces of the military that still followed them and an ancient space station of great power called the Star Forge that had been built by the Rakata species. Using the Star Forge to construct a military fleet and weapons, Revan and Malak waged war against the Galactic Republic in the resultant Jedi Civil War.

Jedi Civil War[]

During the course of the Jedi Civil War, around 3,958 years before the Battle of Yavin, Revan established a presence on the planet Moraband, constructing academies to train hopeful recruits into becoming Sith, strengthening his army. Due to Revan's familiarity with the enemy's tactics, and the fact that countless worlds joined his cause without a fight due to his actions in the Mandalorian Wars, the Jedi and the Galactic Republic were immediately taken aback on the defensive and lost battle after battle. Revan additionally orchestrated the assassination of numerous political figures, and planted his own men to take their place. He also instituted a sect of deadly assassins trained in the ways of the Sith that would capture and corrupt Jedi mindlessly to the dark side of the Force.

Darth Malak, however, soon began to have his own ambitions. He viewed Revan as weak and unfit to be the ruler of their Sith Empire. Tension soon escalated into a Lightsaber duel where Revan cut off Malak's entire jaw as well as fragments of his face, forcing him to wear a metal prosthesis. The Jedi Council in this time of war enacted a vital plan that could tip the scales of the conflict, capture the heads of the Sith Empire. The Council dispatched a strike team, which managed to infiltrate Revan's capital ship and even corner the Dark Lord himself. Seizing advantage of Revan's predicament, Darth Malak fired upon Revan's ship, resulting in the deaths of all the Jedi except Bastila Shan and leaving Revan with a massive blow to the head. Bastila took Revan into custody and would bring him back to the Jedi Council for judgment. With Revan believed to be dead, Darth Malak declared himself the undisputed Dark Lord of the Sith.

Redemption of Revan[]

After the capture of Darth Revan and his transfer back to the Jedi Council, it was soon discovered that as a result of the injuries he sustained during the attack on his capital ship his memories had been heavily damaged. The Jedi Council knew that Revan was the only one powerful enough to destroy Darth Malak and the Empire that he had created, so they would use their combined power to erase the former Dark Lord's memories to mold him into a weapon. After Revan was trained with his new identity as a Jedi Knight, the Jedi Council sent him alongside Bastila Shan who had been tasked to keep a watchful eye on the former Dark Lord to discover the location of the Star Forge by finding Star Maps located across the galaxy which would reveal the ancient stations location. Throughout his first assignments for the Jedi, he was unaware of the Jedi's scheme, not knowing he was formerly a Sith Lord.

Revan and Bastila Shan soon assembled a team along their journey as they traveled across Tatooine, Manaan, and Kashyyk looking for the Star Maps, helping and killing many individuals along the way. In addition to gaining new allies during his travels, Revan grew close with Shan during their travels. Their accomplishments did not go unnoticed, however, and soon they were captured by Darth Malak. In a dramatic showdown, Darth Malak revealed to Revan that he was formerly "Darth" Revan, much to the Jedi's surprise. Revan and Darth Malak fought, leading to Bastila Shan's capture by the Sith. Darth Malak had a particular interest in Bastila Shan because she had mastered rare abilities. Through the power of the dark side, Darth Malak managed to seduce Bastila Shan into becoming his new apprentice. After Malak captured Bastila, joined forces with the Republic officer Carth Onasi to locate Shan and escape the world before Malak could lay waste to the planet Taris's surface.

Revan and his crew continued on with their mission, with the hopes that by finding the last pieces of the map that they might find and rescue Bastila. They infiltrated the Sith Academy on Moraband and with assistance from the Republic's military, they drove the Sith off the planet leading to the world being lost to them for centuries to come. With the final Star Map found on Moraband, Revan traveled to the Star Forge. There, he was confronted first by Bastila Shan, who revealed her new allegiance to the Sith Empire. Revan redeemed her back to the light and the two confessed their love for one another. Revan went on to confront Darth Malak at the heart of the space station. An epic battle between the light and the dark followed, resulting in the defeat of Revan's former friend. In his final words, Darth Malak expressed regret for what he had done. Soon after, the Star Forge itself was destroyed with the Galactic Republic's final fleet, ending the terrible threat of the once formidable Sith Empire. After his victory over Darth Malak and the destruction of the Sith Empire, Revan earned the highest award given by the Republic the Cross of Glory and the title of Prodigal Knight.

Quest to Vanquish the Darkness[]

Over the years after the defeat of Darth Malak, for his part in destroying the Sith Empire and seeing how much of an effect Bastila has on keeping Revan true to heel light, the Jedi Council permitted Revan and Bastila Shan to marry on the condition that they not spread their ideals of love to the other Jedi. Though despite amending his wrongs by destroying the Sith Empire he had created, the Jedi Council still feared his power and despised him. Revan's memories from his time as the Dark Lord began to resurface more and more frequently, with visions of mysterious worlds shrouded in darkness. Believing that the fate of the galaxy was at risk, Revan set out to find the truth of these world clouded by the dark side. He left behind Bastila Shan, who was at the time pregnant with their only son, believing he may not return from the Unknown Regions.
