Biography[]

Alliance Service[]

Wes Janson, a native of Taanab, joined an Rebel Alliance as a member of the starfighter squadron the Tierfon Yellow Aces in the first few years of their conflict known as a Galactic Civil War. The aim of Rebel Tierfon Yellow Aces was to engage the rebellion pilots in a technically "active" missions, but to avoid putting a pilot against too hazardous situations in preparation for more deadly duties in the future. As an pilot in that Tierfon Yellow Aces, he racked up the impressive kill record that then earned Janson a great reputation. But in one of Janson's first missions in the Yellow Aces, Wes faced a difficult choice. But nevertheless, his service was deemed exemplary. he became a lieutenant and awarded in excellence as officer and gunner.

Pilot of the Rogue Squadron[]

While with the Yellow Aces, Janson formed a friendship with Porkins. Coming from the same training class, the two had formed a bond. Janson would often recall some rather tall tales of their days together at Tierfon. With the destruction of Alderaan and the threat of the first Death Star, the Yellow Aces were placed on a list of pilots intended to take part in the upcoming Battle of Yavin. Wes Janson was meant to participate in that battle, but was grounded, and was unable to go. Even though Janson firmly insisted on his ability to fly, a replacement pilot had been named to fill his slot on the transfer list. That someone was Jek Porkins. Porkins never returned from the attack on the Death Star, and Janson often blamed himself for the death of his friend. From that point forward, he did vow to fly to honor his fallen friend. Future heroics did help alleviate some of the guilt and pain he'd carried with him. Wes Janson was among the first crop of rebels to join the new Rogue Squadron under the command of rebel pilot and a aspiring Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker after the destruction of the Death Star. With the Rogues, Janson was permanently assigned to the ever roving rebel High Command division.

As a member of the Rogues, Janson became immediate friends with fellow pilot Wedge Antilles. The two would often fly as one another's wingman. The two also shared numerous interests, such as appreciation for a Corellia ale and sabacc. When High Command relocated to that newly established Echo Base on the ice planet Hoth, Wes was transferred there along with the rest of Rogue Group. Due to his renowned gunnery abilities and the supplement of pilots serving with the Rogue Group to operate their two-seated T-47 Airspeeders, Janson was assigned to be Antilles' rear gunner. When the Empire located Echo Base and launched a subsequent assault, Janson and Antilles were able to bring down the first AT-AT walker during the battle, employing a tactic that involved using the speeder's harpoon and tow cable to trip an AT-AT walker's legs. Though their efforts wouldn't be enough to stop the Empire from destroying that shield, Janson would be able to make it safety back to the base where he prepared to evacuate. Janson flew a X-Wing along with Wedge Antilles assisted the Rebel ship, Bright Hope, flee Hoth. From there, Janson regrouped with other Rogues at a rendezvous point.
